Structure

  1. Opening: the role you are applying for and one sentence on why you are a fit.
  2. Evidence: two or three real examples from your experience that match the role’s main requirements.
  3. Motivation: why this employer, in specific terms.
  4. Close: thank the reader and say you look forward to talking.

Keep it to one page, address a named person if you know one, and never claim experience you do not have.
