Professional summary patterns

  • Experienced: “[Job title] with [number] years of experience in [field], skilled in [two or three real strengths]. Known for [a real, specific contribution].”
  • Career changer: “[Previous field] professional moving into [new field], with experience in [transferable skill] and recent training in [real course or certificate].”
  • Graduate: “[Degree] graduate from [institution] with project experience in [area]. Looking for a [role type] where I can [honest goal].”

Bullet-point pattern

Action verb + what you did + how/with what + result (only if real). Example shape: “Scheduled deliveries for 12 drivers using Excel, reducing missed slots.” Replace with your own facts.

Examples of weak versus stronger wording

  • Weak: “Responsible for customer calls.” Stronger: “Handled customer enquiries by phone and email, logging each case in the CRM.”
  • Weak: “Worked on reports.” Stronger: “Prepared monthly sales reports for the regional manager.”
