What to include

  • Licences and registrations with the issuing body, number only if the employer asks for it, and the expiry date.
  • Certifications such as life-support courses, with the year.
  • Clinical experience: unit or department, patient groups and the procedures or systems you used.
  • Languages, which help in many patient-facing roles.

Never list a licence you do not hold or that has expired without saying so.

Describing clinical experience

Name the setting first (for example an intensive care unit, an outpatient clinic or a community service), then the patient groups, the typical caseload and the equipment or record systems you used. Keep patient information out of your resume completely, including details that could identify a case.

Questions

Should I list every course I have attended?

List the certifications an employer is likely to check, such as life-support courses, with the year. Group short courses in one line.

How do I show a career break?

Give the dates and a short reason if you want to, such as family or study. Add any courses you took to keep your registration current.

Can I apply abroad with these templates?

Yes. Check the licensing body in the country you are applying to, and list your registration status there, such as applied, eligible or registered.
