Applying by email

How do I reply to a recruiter who emailed me about a job?

Reply promptly, thank them, say whether you are interested and give them what they need to move forward. A clear, quick reply keeps you on their shortlist.

If interested:
"Dear Ms Pereira,

Thank you for reaching out about the Network Engineer role. I am interested and have attached my current CV. I am available for a call on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon, Dubai time.

Kind regards,
Arjun Menon"

If not interested, say so politely and keep the door open: "Thank you for thinking of me. I am not looking to move at the moment, but I would be glad to hear about senior roles in the future."

Before sharing personal details, check the recruiter and company are genuine, especially if the message arrived from a free email address.
