Page size, length and layout settings
Should I choose A4 or US Letter for my resume?
Choose US Letter if you are applying mainly to employers in the United States or Canada, and A4 for almost everywhere else, including the UAE and the Gulf, India, the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa. ResumeBuilder.ae offers both page sizes.
Why it matters:
- Employers who print your resume will use their local paper size.
- A4 is slightly taller and narrower than Letter, so the same content can break across pages differently.
- Matching the local size makes your resume look prepared for that market.
If you apply in both regions, keep two versions: one A4, one Letter. After switching size, always preview the whole resume, because a page break that worked on A4 may fall in an awkward place on Letter. In practice, most employers read resumes on screen, so the wrong size is unlikely to cost you an interview, but getting it right is an easy professional touch.
