Heavy Equipment Operator resume

What should a heavy equipment operator resume include?

A heavy equipment operator resume should list the machines you can operate, your operator cards or licences, the types of sites you have worked on, your safety record and bullets with real tasks and results. Site managers hire operators for specific machines, so make your equipment list the easiest thing to find.

Core sections:

  • Header: name, "Heavy Equipment Operator" (or the machine, e.g. "Excavator Operator"), phone with country code, email, city.
  • Summary: years, main machines, site types.
  • Licences and operator cards with numbers and expiry dates.
  • Equipment operated, grouped by type.
  • Work experience with project or site details.
  • Safety training.

Example summary (fictional): "Heavy equipment operator with nine years on road and infrastructure projects, operating excavators, wheel loaders and motor graders for earthworks, trenching and fine grading."

Keep it to one or two pages in a simple layout.
