How do I write an HR manager resume summary?

State your HR scope (generalist, recruitment, reward, employee relations or HR business partnering), the size and type of workforce you support, your systems and one people result such as lower turnover or faster hiring. Keep it to two or three sentences.

Example (fictional): "HR manager with nine years in hospitality and retail, leading a team of four and supporting 1,200 employees across 15 sites. Introduced a structured onboarding programme and exit interview process that helped reduce first-year turnover, and moved HR records to SAP SuccessFactors."

Another example (fictional), for an HR officer: "HR officer handling recruitment, onboarding, payroll inputs and employee records for a 250-person logistics company, with strong knowledge of HR policies and employee relations basics."

Tailor the summary to each advert: a recruitment-heavy role wants hiring results, a business partner role wants strategic and change work.
