Medical Lab Technician resume

What should a medical lab technician resume summary say?

Say which laboratory areas you work in, the type of lab, the analysers or methods you use and one strength such as accuracy, turnaround or quality control. Two or three sentences are enough.

Example (fictional): "Medical laboratory technician with five years in a hospital core laboratory covering clinical chemistry, haematology and urinalysis. Experienced with automated analysers, daily quality control and LIS result entry, and trained in phlebotomy and specimen reception. Consistently met turnaround targets for emergency samples."

Another example (fictional), for microbiology: "Laboratory technologist specialising in microbiology, with experience in culture and sensitivity testing, blood cultures and infection-control reporting in a 300-bed hospital."

Avoid generic phrases such as "hardworking and detail-oriented" with no evidence. Lab managers want to know your sections, equipment and quality habits at a glance. If you rotate across sections, name the ones you are fully signed off in.
