Welder / Fabricator resume

What should a welder or fabricator resume include?

A welder resume should list your welding processes, positions, materials and thicknesses, your welder qualifications, the industries you have worked in and bullets with real jobs and quality results. Employers screen welders on exactly these technical details, so put them where they are easy to find.

Core sections:

  • Header: name, "Welder" or "Welder / Fabricator", phone with country code, email, city.
  • Summary: years, processes, positions and industry.
  • Welding qualifications with standard, process, position and date.
  • Skills: processes, materials, blueprint reading, fabrication tools.
  • Experience: projects or workshops with bullets.
  • Training and safety certificates.

Example summary (fictional): "Pipe welder with eight years in oil and gas, qualified in GTAW root and SMAW fill and cap on carbon steel in 6G position, with consistently low repair rates on radiographed joints."

Keep it to one or two pages and in a simple layout.
