What should I check before sending a creative resume?

Check readability, reading order and accuracy before sending any creative resume. A quick checklist:

  • Read it at normal size on a laptop and on a phone. Is all text easy to read?
  • Print it in black and white. Do headings and sections still stand out?
  • Copy all text into a plain text editor. Is the order logical?
  • Check your name, contact details and portfolio link are real text, not images.
  • Look for consistent fonts, sizes and spacing.
  • Ask someone outside your field to find your current role and top skills quickly.

If you will apply online, run the resume through an ATS-style check as well. Fix any problems before sending, or switch to a simpler version for that application.
