Writing bullet points

How should I write bullet points for an internship?

Write them like any job bullets: start with an action, show what you did and add any result. Focus on real tasks rather than general learning.

Examples:

  • "Prepared weekly sales reports in Excel for the regional sales manager."
  • "Researched 40 potential suppliers and summarised pricing and lead times for the procurement team."
  • "Assisted engineers with site inspections and recorded snag lists on a tablet app."
  • "Wrote 6 blog posts and 20 social media captions for a skincare brand."

Avoid weak lines such as "Learned about how a company works" or "Observed meetings". If observation was a large part of the internship, show what you did with it: "Took minutes in weekly project meetings and tracked action items."
