Singapore CV and resume guidance

I am applying to Singapore from overseas. What should my resume make clear?

Your current location, when you could start, and only the work authorisation facts that are true. Singapore employers commonly receive applications from abroad and want to judge quickly how practical your application is.

Example header line:
"Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | Available from 03/2027 | Open to relocation to Singapore | +60 12 345 6789"

Also consider:

  • Notice period with your current employer.
  • Availability for video interviews and the time difference.
  • Regional experience relevant to Singapore-based roles.

Do not imply you already hold a work pass. If you will need one, it is usually discussed later in the process.

Make your experience easy to place, too. Add a short descriptor for employers a Singapore recruiter may not know, such as "regional logistics provider, approx. 500 staff", and explain degree names that are not obvious. Use A4, write in clear English, and keep the resume to about two pages so it can be read quickly.
