Templates for students, mid-career and executives

What is the best resume template for a fresh graduate?

A clean, single-column, one-page template that gives room to your degree, projects, internships and skills is the best choice for most fresh graduates.

What to look for:

  • A clear education block with degree, university, year and room for relevant modules or a strong result.
  • A projects or internships section with consistent formatting.
  • A compact skills section.
  • Standard headings that read well in graduate recruitment portals.

Many graduate programmes receive large volumes of applications through online systems, so simple structure is especially important. Add personality through your content, such as a focused summary and specific project results, rather than through design.

Use the space well: one or two lines for each internship's context and one or two achievement bullets, a projects section with real results, and skills you can demonstrate. If you have little to show yet, a slightly more spacious layout looks balanced without padding.
