Summaries and objectives for graduates

How do I fix a weak objective like "Seeking a challenging position"?

Replace the vague wish with specifics: your degree, the role you want and what you offer.

Before: "To obtain a challenging position in a reputed organisation where I can utilise my skills and grow."

After: "Electrical engineering graduate seeking a graduate engineer role in power distribution. Skilled in AutoCAD Electrical and MATLAB, with an internship in substation maintenance planning."

The rewrite tells the employer exactly what you are looking for and why you could do it. Read your objective aloud and ask: could any graduate in any field have written this? If yes, add specifics until the answer is no.

The same method works for any field: name your degree, name the role, then add one or two skills and one real piece of evidence. Objectives built this way are short, but every word helps the reader decide to keep going.
