Qatar CV and resume guidance
Should my CV be different for Qatar's government and semi-government employers?
The content stays the same, but these employers often expect a more formal, complete CV and may ask for an Arabic version or their own application form. They also tend to check qualifications and employment history carefully.
Adjust by:
- Using a conservative, single-column layout.
- Listing every qualification with full title, institution, country and year.
- Making sure dates match your experience letters exactly.
- Preparing an Arabic version if the advert or form is in Arabic.
- Keeping your summary formal and specific.
Read the eligibility section of each advert, since some roles are open only to certain applicants. If anything is unclear, ask the employer or check the official portal.
These employers may take longer to respond than private companies, and they sometimes contact candidates months later. Keep your CV, contact details and availability up to date in any profile you create on their portals.
