Electrical Engineer resume
How do I write a graduate electrical engineer resume?
Lead with your degree and practical projects, then add internships, lab skills and software, each with real results. Employers hiring graduates look for sound fundamentals and hands-on experience.
What to include:
- Education: degree, university, year, final project and grade if strong.
- Projects: solar PV systems, motor control, PCB design, microcontrollers, power studies.
- Internships: site, substation, factory or design office tasks.
- Software and tools: AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB/Simulink, Arduino, multimeter, oscilloscope.
Example (fictional): "Final-year project: designed and built a 2 kW off-grid solar system with battery storage, monitoring output for three months."
Example (fictional): "Intern at a substation contractor: assisted with cable testing and prepared as-built single-line diagrams."
Example (fictional): "Designed a motor speed controller PCB in KiCad for a robotics competition."
Keep it to one page and state the type of role you want.
