Australia CV and resume guidance
How should a nurse or allied health worker format a resume for Australia?
Use a clear reverse-chronological format with your registration status near the top, then clinical experience broken down by ward or setting. Australian healthcare recruiters scan for registration, recent clinical areas and mandatory training.
Structure:
- Header and a short summary naming your profession and specialty.
- Registration: list it with number and expiry if you hold it, or your accurate status, such as "Application lodged".
- Clinical experience: hospital, ward or specialty, bed numbers, patient types and skills.
- Education and post-graduate certificates.
- Mandatory training: CPR, manual handling, medication competencies.
- Checks: police check, vaccination record if the ad asks.
- Referees: recent clinical supervisors.
If your role requires a licence or registration, list it with its number and expiry date as required by the regulator.
