A card that prints the way it looks
The designer draws your card at its real size in millimetres. The preview, the PNG picture, the SVG file and the PDF are all drawn from the same layout, so what you download matches what you see. Text is turned into vector outlines, which print sharply at any size and do not depend on the printer having your fonts.

How to design your card
- Add your details. Every field is optional. Add a logo or a photo if you like; both stay in your browser.
- Choose one of 12 templates. Your details stay when you switch designs.
- Adjust the design. Change the colours, font, text size and alignment, choose what goes on the front and back, and decide which contact details appear.
- Add a contact QR code if you want one. It saves the details shown on your card to a phone, or opens your website.
- Download for print or screen. Choose a print-shop PDF, an exact-size PDF, a sheet of ten cards for home printing, or PNG and SVG files.
Card sizes
Choose the size before you order, because business cards are not the same size everywhere:
- 85 × 55 mm – common in Europe and many other countries.
- 3.5 × 2 inches (88.9 × 50.8 mm) – common in the United States and Canada.
- 90 × 50 mm – another widely used size.
If your printer lists a different size, ask which of these is closest, or check their template.
Bleed, safe area and crop marks
Printers cut cards from larger sheets, and the cut can move by a millimetre or so. To avoid thin white edges, a print-ready file extends the background past the edge of the card. This extra strip is the bleed. The print-shop PDF adds 3 mm of bleed on every side (1/8 inch for the US size), sets the trim and bleed boxes that print software reads, and adds crop marks outside the bleed. Text and important details stay at least 4 mm inside the edge, in the safe area; switch on “Show trim line and safe area” in the preview to see both lines.
The exact-size PDF has no bleed and no marks. Use it for sharing on screen, or for a printer that asks for trim-size files. The home-printing sheets place ten cards on A4 or US Letter with cut marks; print them at 100% (“Actual size”), not “Fit to page”.
Colours, paper and QR codes
- Colours are RGB. Print shops convert them to print colours, so printed colours can look slightly different from your screen. If colour is critical, ask for a proof.
- Contrast matters. The tool warns you when text and background are too close to read easily.
- QR codes need space. A contact QR code with many details is dense. The tool tells you when its squares are too small to scan easily; putting it on the back, showing fewer details, or linking to your website helps.
Privacy
Your card is designed and exported in your browser. The details, logo and photo you add are not uploaded to our server, and we do not keep them.
Frequently asked questions
Is the business card maker free?
Yes. All 12 templates and every download – PDF, PNG, SVG and the contact file – are free, with no account and no watermark.
Which file should I send to a print shop?
The “Print shop” PDF: it has 3 mm bleed, crop marks and the correct trim size, with the front and back as separate pages. If the shop asks for files without bleed, use the exact-size PDF instead.
Can I print business cards at home?
Yes. Download the A4 or US Letter sheet of ten cards, print at 100% on card stock, and cut along the marks. For double-sided cards, print the back page on the reverse, flipping on the long edge; the back is mirrored so the cards line up.
Can I write my name in Arabic or Hindi?
Yes. Arabic, Hindi (Devanagari) and Malayalam are shaped and drawn correctly, as are Latin, Greek and Cyrillic letters. Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters are not supported yet; the tool tells you if a character cannot be drawn.
Is the text in the PDF editable?
No. Text is converted to outlines so it prints exactly as designed without needing fonts. To change something, edit it in the designer and download again.
