What an ATS is and what it does

Is an ATS-friendly resume enough to get me interviews?

No. Being ATS-friendly removes technical barriers, but it does not make you a strong candidate on its own. Think of it as making sure your resume can be read; whether it gets you an interview depends on what it says and on the competition.

What actually moves you forward:

  • Applying to roles where you meet the core requirements.
  • A summary and top bullets that clearly match the job's main duties.
  • Specific achievements with context and results. Example: "Reduced customer complaints by introducing a daily quality checklist across three stores."
  • Accurate answers to screening questions.
  • Networking, referrals and follow-ups where appropriate.

Many people spend hours on formatting and minutes on content. Once your file passes a simple copy-and-paste test, spend most of your effort on the content: relevance, evidence and clarity. That is what a recruiter or hiring manager judges when they decide who to call.
