Bahrain CV and resume guidance
What CV format do employers in Bahrain usually expect?
A clean, one- or two-page CV in English, in reverse chronological order, is what most private employers in Bahrain expect. Banks, consultancies, hotels and industrial companies in Bahrain often recruit from a mixed international pool, so a simple, widely understood format works best.
A common structure:
- Header: full name, professional title, phone with +973 (or your country code), email, and area and city.
- Optional personal details: nationality, residency or visa status, driving licence and notice period.
- Professional summary: three or four lines aimed at the role.
- Work experience: latest job first, with results rather than duties.
- Education, certifications and training.
- Skills and languages, with Arabic and English levels.
Keep the design plain, use A4, and send it as a PDF unless the employer asks for something else. Government and semi-government employers may use their own application forms, so follow their instructions. A single-column template is the safest choice if the CV will go through an online portal.
