List the licence and its category clearly in personal details or a Licences section, then show your driving experience in your work history. For driver, transport and equipment roles in Oman, the licence category is often the first thing recruiters check.

Example:
"Driving licence: Oman, heavy vehicle category, valid until 2029"

Then in experience:
"Heavy Truck Driver, [transport company], Muscat to Salalah route, 2020 to 2026

• Delivered goods safely on long-distance routes with no accidents."

Tips:

• Mention defensive driving or hazardous goods training with dates.
• Include licences from other countries if they are relevant.
• Keep your licence number off the CV.

Translate what you did and achieved, not the exact Arabic wording, and use the plain English terms employers use. Many people in Omani ministries and local companies work in Arabic every day, and a direct translation can sound unusual in English.

Tips:

• Translate job titles carefully: "Head of Section, Procurement" rather than a word-for-word title.
• Use action verbs: managed, prepared, reviewed, coordinated.
• Add results where possible.
• Mention that you prepared Arabic documents, as that is a valuable skill.

Example: "Prepared Arabic and English correspondence for the Director General, handling about 50 letters a week."

Ask an English-speaking friend or colleague to review your wording. Keep the Arabic CV as a separate version if needed.

Describe the development type, your function and your results in plain terms. Oman has integrated tourism complexes and residential developments that combine hotels, homes and marinas, and roles range from sales and leasing to facilities and community management.

Example bullets:

• "Managed leasing for a waterfront residential community in Muscat."
• "Coordinated handover of 120 apartments to owners, resolving snagging issues."
• "Ran resident events and community services to improve retention."

Include:

• Function: sales, leasing, customer service, facilities, project management.
• Systems: CRM, property management software.
• Languages used with buyers.

Leave out prices and buyer names. If you sold to international buyers, say so in general terms.

Show the service or system you worked on, your role and how it improved things for users. Many government bodies in Oman are moving services online, and both public and private employers value experience with these projects.

Example bullets:

• "Analysed requirements for an online licensing service, reducing paper forms."
• "Coordinated user acceptance testing with three government departments."
• "Trained 50 staff on a new document management system."

Include:

• Your role: analyst, developer, project manager, change officer.
• Technologies or methods: cloud, APIs, agile, process mapping.
• Results: processing time, user uptake, cost or effort saved.

Keep confidential details out, and only name the government body if the project is public and you are comfortable doing so.

Name your employer, then make clear which brands, product categories or divisions you handled and what you achieved for them. Large Omani trading groups often hold distribution rights for many international brands, so "Sales Executive at [trading company]" alone does not tell a recruiter much.

Example:
"Brand Manager, Consumer Electronics Division, [trading company], Muscat, 2021 to 2026

• Managed distribution of two international electronics brands across 60 retail outlets in Oman.
• Launched a new product range with the brand's regional team."

Tips:

• Name brands only if that information is public, which it usually is for distributors.
• Show your work with the brand principal, such as joint business plans, training or audits.
• If you moved between divisions, list each as a separate line under the same employer.
