Pharmacist resume
What should a pharmacist resume summary include?
Include your pharmacy setting (community, hospital, clinical or industry), years of practice, key strengths and your licence status in brief. Two or three sentences are enough.
Example (fictional): "Community pharmacist with seven years in high-volume retail pharmacies, dispensing up to 300 prescriptions a day, running medication reviews and supervising a team of four technicians. Known for accurate dispensing, clear patient counselling and smooth stock control."
Another example (fictional), for hospital practice: "Clinical pharmacist in a 350-bed hospital, working on medical and surgical wards with a focus on medication reconciliation, antimicrobial stewardship and support for prescribers."
Keep the full licence details for a separate section, and adjust the summary to the setting in each advert. A hospital employer wants to hear about ward work and clinical services, while a pharmacy chain is more interested in volume, accuracy, customer service and running a team. If you speak languages that help with patient counselling, the summary is a good place to mention them briefly.
