Software Engineer resume – Page 2
Is it worth adding education details like GPA or coursework as an experienced engineer?
Usually not. Once you have a few years of software engineering work, one line per degree is enough: degree, subject, institution and year. Experience and projects now carry far more weight.
Keep extra detail only when:
- The employer asks for grades, which happens in some graduate programmes and some countries.
- Your degree is very recent and your work history is short.
- You studied a specialised topic that matches the role, such as distributed systems or computer vision, and you want to show it.
Example (fictional): "BSc Computer Science, University of Westbridge, 2017."
Move education below experience and certifications. Remove school results entirely once you have a degree.
