How Naukrigulf Works for Jobs in the Gulf

Published · by JOBB GROUP FZE

Naukrigulf works in two directions at once. You search and apply for jobs, and at the same time recruiters search a database of candidate profiles to find people they never received an application from. Most users only use the first half. This tutorial covers both, from setting up a profile recruiters can find to reading the feedback the platform gives you on each application.

What Naukrigulf is

Naukrigulf is the Gulf job board of Info Edge (India) Ltd, the company behind Naukri.com. According to Info Edge, it was launched in 2006 and focuses on the six GCC countries, with the UAE as its largest market followed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait. It also has an Arabic-language job seeker section, and its mobile apps are available on iOS and Android.

Recruiters who pay for the service get access to a CV search tool called Resdex, which Info Edge describes as its CV database for employers. That is the reason a complete, searchable profile matters as much as the applications you send.

Before you start

Have these ready so you can complete the profile in one sitting:

  • An up-to-date CV in a common format, with a clean, single-column layout that software can read.
  • A list of three to five target job titles, written the way Gulf employers write them in adverts.
  • Your current location, visa status and notice period, since Gulf recruiters often filter on these.
  • A professional email address and a phone number you answer, including on WhatsApp if you use it for work.

Step 1: Decide whether to register

Info Edge says Naukrigulf does not require you to become a member before applying to a job, and the iOS app listing says you can “apply to jobs at a single click without registration”. That is useful if you want to test the site quickly.

For a serious search, register anyway. Without an account you cannot build a profile for recruiters to find, save searches, set alerts or see how your applications are performing. The app listing also mentions UAE PASS integration, added in version 17.5, if you prefer to sign in with your UAE digital identity.

Step 2: Build a profile recruiters can find

Think of each field as a filter a recruiter might apply in a database search. A blank field means you drop out of any search that uses it.

Headline and current role

Use a standard job title, not an internal one. “Senior Accountant” will match more searches than “Finance Lead – Group Reporting”. If your title is unusual, add the common equivalent in the headline.

Skills and keywords

Add the tools, systems and certifications that appear in adverts for your target role, but only those you can discuss in an interview. For an accountant that might be IFRS, VAT returns, SAP and month-end close (illustrative).

Location and preferences

Set your current location accurately and add each Gulf country or city where you would genuinely accept a job. Adding every location can lead to irrelevant calls.

Experience and salary details

Complete each role with dates, employer and two or three achievements. Where the profile asks for salary information, give accurate figures; recruiters often check them against the offer budget early in the process.

Step 3: Upload and check your CV

The app lets you create or upload a CV and update it later. Upload the same CV you would send directly to an employer, and make sure the text in it matches your profile. Recruiters notice when the job title or dates differ.

Naukrigulf lists a free resume quality score among its tools. Use it, and if you want a second opinion, compare the result with another ATS resume checker. If your CV is out of date or hard to read, rebuilding it in a resume builder and saving a fresh PDF is often quicker than editing an old file.

Step 4: Search properly and set alerts

According to the app listing, you can search full-time, part-time and contractual jobs and filter by location, industry or department, company, designation or skills, experience level and freshness.

  • Sort or filter by freshness. Recently posted jobs are more likely to still be open.
  • Save two or three focused searches rather than one broad one, for example one per target title.
  • Turn on job alerts for each saved search, and check the email settings so recommendations reach your main inbox.
  • Save or email jobs to yourself that you want to read carefully before applying.

Step 5: Apply, then read the feedback

This is the part most people skip. The app describes “profile performance” insights for your applications, including how well your profile matches the job, where your application ranks among other applicants, how many recruiters reviewed it and what actions they took. It also sends notifications when recruiters act on an application.

Use these signals as a weekly check:

What you see What it may mean What to try
Low match for jobs you think you suit Your profile is missing terms the job uses Add relevant skills and align your headline with the job title
Applications viewed but not shortlisted The CV does not show fit quickly enough Move the most relevant achievements to the top of the CV
Few views at all You are applying late, or to roles far from your profile Apply to recently posted listings and narrow your target titles
Recruiter calls for the wrong roles Location or title preferences are too broad Tighten preferences and update the headline

Step 6: Respond to recruiters who find you

The app also shows recruiters who are interested in your profile without an application, and the app has quick-access buttons for employer invites. Reply promptly to relevant ones, even if only to say the role is not right for you. Before sharing documents, check the company independently: look for its official website and a real office address.

Paid extras: decide calmly

Naukrigulf offers paid services, including resume writing and a feature it calls Resume Spotlight; the app listing points to the website for details. These are optional. Give the free profile and insights a few weeks first, so you have a baseline against which to judge whether a paid service changes anything.

Keep your account safe

Naukrigulf has published a warning to its recruiter clients about phishing emails sent “from an account claiming to be from Naukrigulf team”. Its advice applies equally to job seekers: always log in from the http://www.naukrigulf.com homepage and do not share your login details “with anyone, not even with us.” If you replied to a suspicious email with your password, change it immediately.

Be equally careful with job offers. In the UAE, the government portal states that charging recruitment fees to prospective employees is illegal. As of November 2026, if someone asks for a fee to process your application or visa, stop and report it; for labour questions contact MoHRE on 600590000. This is general information, not legal advice.
