Describe the type and size of tenders, your role in preparing them and the results, without sharing confidential pricing. Government tenders drive a lot of work in Kuwait's construction, IT, facilities and supply sectors, and companies value people who know the process.

Examples:

• "Prepared technical and commercial submissions for 30 public tenders in road maintenance and utilities."
• "Coordinated pre-qualification documents and compliance checklists."
• "Won 9 contracts over three years."

Mention tools, such as estimating software, and any bilingual documentation you prepared. Do not name values unless they are public.

A short paragraph that names your role, your experience in the region and a key result, then adds availability or location if helpful. The summary is the first thing a recruiter sees, so it should make the match obvious.

Example: "HSE Officer with seven years in Kuwait's oil and construction sectors, including four years on a long-term maintenance contract. NEBOSH certified, with a record of zero lost-time incidents across two sites. Based in Fahaheel, available on 30 days' notice."

Tips:

• Use the title from the advert if it fits you.
• Mention Kuwait or GCC experience if you have it.
• Avoid generic phrases like "hard-working team player" unless you back them up.

Translate ranks and duties into civilian terms, and show transferable skills such as leadership, logistics, security, training and planning. Private employers may not understand military titles, so explain your level through team size and responsibilities.

Tips:

• Title: keep your rank, but add a civilian equivalent: "Captain (Operations Manager equivalent, 60 staff)".
• Bullets: focus on outcomes, such as plans delivered, people trained or equipment managed.
• Training: list courses that match civilian roles, such as security management, first aid, IT or languages.
• Leave out sensitive operational details.

Aim your summary at a specific civilian role, such as security manager, logistics coordinator or training officer.

Group them into one entry showing the period, employers or clients, and the type of work, then list a few highlights. Shutdown and turnaround work at refineries and plants in Kuwait often comes in short, intense contracts, and listing each one separately can make a CV look fragmented.

Example:
"Mechanical Supervisor, shutdown and turnaround contracts, Kuwait, 2021 to 2026

• Supervised crews of up to 40 during six refinery turnarounds.
• Completed heat exchanger and valve work packages on schedule."

Name the contractors if helpful. If you also had a permanent role between shutdowns, list that separately with its own dates.

Present it like any professional role, with your title, organisation, dates and measurable results. Kuwait has an active charity sector, and roles in fundraising, programme management, finance and communications build skills that employers in other sectors value too.

• "Managed distribution programmes reaching 3,000 families each year."
• "Coordinated 150 volunteers across Ramadan campaigns."
• "Prepared donor reports in Arabic and English."

If you were a volunteer rather than staff, list it in a Volunteer Work section instead. Show compliance and reporting skills, which matter in this sector.
