LinkedIn and online profiles alongside your resume

How do I write my LinkedIn About section?

Write a short, first-person summary of what you do, what you are good at, a few achievements and what you are looking for. It can be warmer and longer than a resume summary, but should still be focused.

A simple structure:

  • Who you are and what you do, in one or two sentences.
  • Your main areas of expertise.
  • Two or three achievements with results.
  • What you are interested in next, and how to contact you.

Example opening: "I help mid-sized retailers keep the right stock in the right stores. Over six years in inventory planning in Dubai and Muscat, I have…"

Use short paragraphs and include relevant keywords naturally. Avoid repeating your resume word for word.
