PDF or Word: which format to send

The employer insists on a Word file but my resume builder only exports PDF. How do I make one?

Copy your text into a word processor and rebuild a simple version there. ResumeBuilder.ae exports PDF only, so there is no Word download; the Word file has to be made outside the builder.

Steps:

  • Open your resume in the builder and copy the text section by section, or select the text in your downloaded PDF and copy it.
  • Paste it into a new Word or Google Docs document using "paste as plain text" or "keep text only".
  • Add headings, bullets and bold job titles using the word processor's own styles.
  • Save as .docx with a clear name, such as "Rahul-Menon-CV.docx".

Then check the result carefully: line breaks inside bullets, missing bullet symbols, merged words, dates on the wrong line, and page breaks. Print preview the file or save it as PDF once to see how it will look to the employer.
