Re-downloading and editing after payment – Page 2
Do retries after a failed download count against my 10 attempts?
It's safest to assume each try may count, so avoid repeated clicking. What matters most is that a failed PDF generation can be retried without paying again.
Good practice:
- Click download once and wait for the file to finish.
- If it fails, fix the likely cause first, such as allowing downloads or freeing memory, before trying again.
- Keep a note of each failed try and what you saw.
If failures use up your attempts, email support@jobb.ae with the payment date and a description of each failure. PDFs that could not be delivered are refunded under the Refund Policy, so a technical problem should not leave you without your resume.
A recruiter asked for an updated resume a week after I paid. Do I pay again?
If more than 7 days have passed since payment, yes: the new download is a new export at US$1.00. If you are still within the 7 days and have attempts left, edit and download again at no extra cost.
Before downloading, check:
- Exactly what the recruiter wants updated, such as a new role, dates or a specific skill.
- Your contact details are still correct.
- The page size suits the country of the job.
If the recruiter only needs one fact, such as your notice period or availability, it may be enough to answer in an email instead of sending a new file. Otherwise, update, download, and reply with a short note naming the attached file.
Can I download the exact same PDF again without changing anything?
Yes. Within 7 days of paying, you can download again even with no changes, up to 10 attempts in total.
Reasons people do this:
- The first file was lost or deleted.
- They need the file on another device and can still open the resume there.
- They want a fresh copy after a download was interrupted.
If you just need the file on another device, it can be quicker to email the existing PDF to yourself or save it to cloud storage. That saves your attempts for real changes later in the week.
Should I delete older PDFs after downloading a corrected version?
Delete or archive them, but keep a copy of any version you actually sent to an employer. Too many similar files make it easy to attach the wrong one, while sent copies help you prepare for interviews.
A tidy approach:
- Keep the latest version in your main folder.
- Move sent versions to a folder named by employer or month.
- Delete drafts that were never sent, especially ones with mistakes.
Before an interview, open the version you sent to that employer, because the interviewer will ask about what is on that copy, not your newest one.
Can I use my paid resume download to make a resume for my friend?
It is better not to. Your friend's resume should be its own saved resume, ideally in their own browser, and it is downloaded with its own US$1.00 PDF export. Your re-download window is for your resume and your own corrections and updates.
The good news for your friend:
- Creating, editing and previewing are free.
- All templates, the ATS-readiness check and the job-description comparison are free.
- They pay only when they download their own PDF.
It's best for your friend to build the resume in their own browser, so it is saved for them and stays private. You can sit with them and help with wording without mixing it into your own saved resumes.
What should I double-check before each re-download?
Check the parts you changed and anything those changes could affect, such as page breaks. Each re-download uses one of your 10 attempts, so a quick check first saves attempts.
A short checklist:
- The edit you made is there and spelled correctly.
- Your name, phone and email at the top are right.
- No sample text or [bracketed] prompts are left.
- Nothing has spilled onto an extra page or left a nearly empty last page.
- The page size is right for the job's country.
- For a tailored version, the job title and company in your summary match the job.
Then download, open the file and look at every page once.
Can I remove a section for one job and download a shorter version?
Yes. Editing the resume you paid for, including removing or reordering sections, is covered within 7 days of payment, up to 10 attempts.
When a shorter version helps:
- The employer asked for a one-page resume.
- Some sections, such as Publications or Volunteer Work, aren't relevant to this job.
Tips:
- Remove the section in the builder, then check the preview for good page breaks.
- Keep your full version safe: if you want to keep both long and short versions long-term, save them as separate resumes, each with its own export when downloaded.
- Name the files clearly, such as "CV-one-page.pdf".
How do I know how many download attempts I have left?
Keep your own count from the day you pay, and contact support if you are unsure. You have up to 10 attempts within 7 days of payment.
A simple way to track:
- Write down the payment date and the date your 7 days end.
- Each time you download, add one to your count, and note whether it was the resume or the cover letter.
- Note any failed attempts and what happened.
If you think a technical problem used up attempts, or the count doesn't match what you expected, email support@jobb.ae with the payment date and your notes. Keeping your own record also helps you plan when to make your final corrections.
Can I get a refund for download attempts I didn't use?
Check the Refund Policy for your case. On ResumeBuilder.ae the US$1.00 payment covers the PDF export, with the option to download again or retry for 7 days, up to 10 attempts; the Refund Policy covers duplicate charges and PDFs that could not be delivered.
Unused attempts are a safety net for fixes and updates. If you received your PDF and simply didn't need the extra downloads, that is normal use.
If you never received a working PDF, that is different: email support@jobb.ae with the payment date, any reference and what happened, because PDFs that could not be delivered are refunded.
Do edits after paying give me a fresh 7 days or 10 new attempts?
No. The 7 days run from the original payment, and the 10 attempts are a total for that period, whether or not you edit between downloads.
That means:
- Editing on day 5 still leaves you only until day 7 to download.
- Every download counts towards the same 10, including downloads after edits.
- Starting the clock again needs a new PDF export at US$1.00.
Plan your week: make large changes early, then use the later days for small, careful corrections. If you expect to need many updates over a longer time, it is usually better to wait and download when you are ready to apply.
I added a new job after paying. Can I download the updated resume?
Yes, if you are within 7 days of paying and have attempts left; otherwise a new download is a new export at US$1.00.
When adding the new job:
- Put it at the top of Work Experience, with your title, employer, city and start date.
- Change the previous job's end date if you have left it.
- Update your professional title and summary to match your new position.
- Check that the extra content hasn't pushed a few lines onto a new page.
If you are outside the 7 days, it is often worth waiting until you have several updates, then downloading once when you start applying again.
I paid on Monday. Can I still download for free next Monday?
Probably not, because the window lasts 7 days from payment, and next Monday is the very end of it or already past it. Don't leave important downloads until the last day.
To be safe:
- Download your final version a day or two before the 7 days end.
- Make a note of the exact payment time as well as the day.
- Keep the last downloaded PDF somewhere safe, so you don't need a new export to get the same file later.
If you do miss the window, editing and previewing stay free; only a new download is a new export at US$1.00.
Can I download again after editing on my phone if I paid on my laptop?
Only if the same resume is available on your phone, which depends on how it was saved. Guest resumes are saved in the browser where they were made, so the phone won't see a resume made on the laptop unless you logged in or restored a backup.
Options:
- Make the edit on the laptop, where you paid, and download there.
- If you logged in, open My resumes on the phone, check the resume is there, then edit and download.
- After downloading on the laptop, email the PDF to yourself to have it on your phone.
Don't pay again on the phone for the same resume within the 7 days; contact support@jobb.ae if you can't reach it.
Is it better to download several tailored versions or one general resume?
One strong general resume works for similar jobs; a tailored version is worth it when a job emphasises different skills. Within 7 days of paying you can make up to 10 downloads, so you can do some tailoring without extra cost.
Tailor when:
- The job description stresses a skill you have but placed lower down.
- The job title is different from your current one, and your summary should reflect the target role.
Keep one general version when:
- You are applying to many similar roles in one field.
- Changes would be only a word or two.
Whatever you choose, keep each tailored file named by employer, so you know which version each one received.
Will editing after payment change my saved resume permanently?
Yes, edits change the saved resume, so the next download and future previews will include them. If you want to keep the original as well, save a separate resume before making big changes.
When to keep a separate copy:
- You are making a version for a different career direction.
- You want to remove large sections for one job but keep them for others.
Keep in mind that a separately saved resume is a different resume, so downloading it later needs its own export at US$1.00. For small tailoring within one week, editing the same resume and keeping the downloaded PDFs is usually simpler.
