Download and payment problems on ResumeBuilder.ae – Page 2

Could my browser's tracking protection be blocking checkout?

It can, if the setting is very strict. Strong tracking protection or cookie blocking sometimes stops parts of a secure payment page or the return to the site after paying.

What to try:

  • Look for a shield or lock icon in the address bar and relax protection for this site only.
  • Allow cookies for the site if your browser blocks all cookies.
  • Try the payment in another up-to-date browser with standard settings.

Changing the setting for one trusted site is safer than switching protection off everywhere. ResumeBuilder.ae takes payment through Stripe Checkout, so check that the payment page shows the secure padlock before you enter card details. If you were charged but the return step failed, don't pay again; retry the download and contact support@jobb.ae if needed.

My browser tab crashes when I try to download the PDF. How do I fix it?

Free up memory on your device and try again, because the PDF is generated inside your browser. A tab that crashes or reloads during the download usually ran out of memory.

Steps:

  • Close other tabs and apps, especially video, games and large spreadsheets.
  • Restart the browser, or restart the whole device if it has been on for days.
  • Update the browser to its latest version.
  • Try a different browser or a more powerful device if the problem continues.

After paying you can retry for 7 days, up to 10 attempts, and a failed generation can be retried without paying again, so a crash does not cost you extra. If it crashes every time on more than one device, email support@jobb.ae and mention how many pages your resume has and which language it uses.

My computer's disk is almost full. Can that stop the download?

Yes. If there isn't enough free space, the browser may fail to save the PDF or save an empty file. A resume PDF is small, but a nearly full disk can also slow the browser while it creates the file.

What to do:

  • Empty the recycle bin or trash.
  • Delete old installers and large files in your Downloads folder.
  • Move photos and videos to an external drive or cloud storage.
  • Check the browser's downloads list: an entry marked as failed often points to a space problem.

Then retry the download. After paying you can download again or retry for 7 days, up to 10 attempts. Open the new file once it saves to confirm it is complete before you send it anywhere.

My resume saved without ".pdf" at the end, or as a strange file type. What happened?

Usually the download did not finish, or the browser saved it under a temporary name. Files ending in ".crdownload", ".part", ".download" or ".tmp" are unfinished downloads, not your resume.

What to do:

  • Delete the unfinished file; renaming it to ".pdf" will not make it complete.
  • Check your connection and free storage.
  • Retry the download and wait until the browser shows it as complete.
  • If the finished file has no extension shown, your computer may simply hide extensions; check the file type in its properties or "Get Info".

Open the finished file to confirm it is a working PDF. After paying, retries are allowed for 7 days, up to 10 attempts. If every attempt saves an unfinished file, try another browser and then email support@jobb.ae.

The PDF opened in a browser tab instead of saving. How do I keep it?

Save it from the browser's PDF viewer using its download or save icon. Some browsers show PDFs on screen by default rather than saving them straight to a folder.

General steps:

  • Look for a download arrow or save icon in the PDF viewer toolbar, usually at the top right.
  • Choose a folder you'll remember and give the file a clear name, such as "Aisha-Rahman-CV.pdf".
  • If there is no icon, use the browser menu and choose Save or Save page as, making sure the type stays PDF.
  • Avoid the "Print to PDF" route, as it can change the layout.

Then open the saved copy from your folder to make sure it works. You can also change the browser's PDF setting so future PDFs download instead of opening.

Where do downloads go on a Chromebook?

Usually to the Downloads folder in the Files app. Chromebooks save browser downloads there unless the browser is set to ask where to save each file.

To find your resume:

  • Open the browser's downloads list and choose to show the file in its folder.
  • Or open the Files app from the launcher and select Downloads, then sort by date.

If you are using a school or work Chromebook, downloads or payments may be restricted by the administrator. In that case, use your own device rather than trying to get around the restriction. Also remember that school-managed devices may be wiped or shared, so move your resume to your own storage, such as your personal cloud account, and don't leave copies on a shared machine.

Can using a VPN cause payment or download problems?

It can. Some banks and payment pages treat a VPN as unusual activity, because your location appears different from your card's country, and this can lead to extra checks or a declined payment.

If you have problems:

  • Turn the VPN off for the payment step and try again.
  • Make sure your connection is stable afterwards before downloading.
  • Check your card app for any security alert and approve the payment if it was you.

A VPN is less likely to stop the download itself, but a slow VPN server can interrupt it. After paying, you can retry for 7 days, up to 10 attempts. If a payment was declined, nothing usually needs to be refunded; if it went through but no PDF arrived, contact support@jobb.ae.

I have two copies of the same PDF. Did I pay twice?

Not necessarily. Two copies usually mean you downloaded twice, not that you paid twice. After paying, you can download again for 7 days, up to 10 attempts, and browsers often name a second copy with "(1)" at the end.

To be sure:

  • Check your card or bank app for the number of charges on that date.
  • One charge with two files is normal.
  • Two charges for the same resume is a duplicate.

Duplicate charges are refunded under the Refund Policy. Email support@jobb.ae with the dates and times of both charges and any references. Delete the extra file, or keep only the newest, so you always attach the right version to applications.

I have several saved resumes and can't remember which one I paid for. How can I tell?

Look at which resume you were working on at the time of payment, using the date on your bank entry as a guide. You can save up to 10 resumes, and each payment is for a PDF export of the resume you were on at the time.

Ways to narrow it down:

  • Check the date and time of the charge in your card app.
  • Open each saved resume and see which one matches the PDF you downloaded.
  • Look at the file name and date of the PDF in your downloads.

Going forward, keep a note of which saved resume you use for which kind of job, and open the preview before paying, so you know which is which. If you still can't tell, or you need help reaching the paid resume to retry, email support@jobb.ae with the date and time of payment.

The download button does nothing when I click it. What can I try?

Something in the browser is probably stopping the page, so test the usual suspects one by one. Click once and wait a few seconds first, because the PDF is created in your browser and may take a moment to start.

Try:

  • Reloading the page, then opening the same resume and trying again.
  • Allowing pop-ups and downloads for the site.
  • Pausing ad blockers and privacy extensions for the site.
  • Updating the browser, or trying another one.
  • On a phone, opening the site in your main browser instead of inside another app.

If nothing works, note what you see, take a screenshot and email support@jobb.ae with your device and browser. If you already paid, retries are allowed for 7 days, up to 10 attempts, and a failed generation can be retried without paying again.

The PDF keeps failing. Can I get a Word file instead?

No. ResumeBuilder.ae exports PDF only, with no Word (.docx) option. If you urgently need a file and the PDF won't download, you can copy the text from the builder into a word processor and format it there.

Before you do that, try the usual fixes:

  • Allow downloads and pop-ups for the site.
  • Pause extensions and update or switch browser.
  • Free up memory and storage.
  • Try another device.

After paying, retries are allowed for 7 days, up to 10 attempts, and a failed generation can be retried without paying again. If the PDF can't be delivered at all, contact support@jobb.ae; PDFs that could not be delivered are refunded under the Refund Policy.

I saw an error message while downloading. What should I do with it?

Write down the exact wording or take a screenshot before you close it, then try the usual fixes. The exact words help support understand what went wrong much faster than "it didn't work".

Steps:

  • Screenshot the message, or copy the text word for word.
  • Note the time, your device and your browser.
  • Retry once after reloading the page.
  • If it happens again, try another up-to-date browser.

If the error continues, email support@jobb.ae with the screenshot, the time and any payment reference you have. Cover any card details or other private information in screenshots before you send them. If you already paid, a failed PDF generation can be retried without paying again.

I emailed support about my download but haven't had a reply. What should I do?

First check your spam, junk and promotions folders, then send a short follow-up to support@jobb.ae in the same email thread. Replies sometimes land in filters, especially on free email accounts.

When you follow up:

  • Reply to your first message so the history stays together.
  • Repeat the key details: date and time of payment, reference if you have one, device and browser.
  • Say what you have tried since, for example "tried another browser, same result".
  • Double-check the address you wrote to is support@jobb.ae.

Meanwhile, you can keep retrying within your 7 days and 10 attempts after payment, as a failed generation does not need a new payment. Avoid paying again for the same resume while you wait.

Downloading my resume on an iPad or Android tablet doesn't work. What can I try?

Treat it like a phone: check the Files app, allow downloads, and use the main browser. Tablets save downloads to a Downloads location much like phones, but some browsers on tablets show a desktop-style page, which can change how downloads behave.

Try:

  • Checking the browser's downloads list and the Files app.
  • Making sure you are in the main browser, not inside another app.
  • Keeping the screen on and the page open while the PDF is generated.
  • Closing other apps to free memory.
  • Updating the browser and the tablet's system if updates are waiting.

If it still fails, try a computer or phone. After paying you can retry for 7 days, up to 10 attempts. If none of your devices can download it, email support@jobb.ae with the details.

Should I dispute the charge with my bank instead of contacting support?

Contact support first. A bank dispute, often called a chargeback, is a formal process that can take a long time, while a problem such as a missing PDF or a duplicate charge can often be sorted out directly.

On ResumeBuilder.ae:

  • A failed PDF generation can be retried without paying again.
  • Duplicate charges and PDFs that could not be delivered are refunded under the Refund Policy.

Email support@jobb.ae with the payment date and time, any reference and a short description of the problem. Keep a copy of your email. If you don't recognise the charge at all, or you think your card was used by someone else, contact your bank straight away, as that is a card security issue.

I cancelled the "Save as" window by mistake. Can I get the file again?

Yes. Go back to the same resume and download again. After paying you can download again or retry for 7 days, up to 10 attempts, so cancelling the save window does not lose your payment.

Why it happens: some browsers are set to ask where to save each file. If you press Cancel, nothing is saved.

Next time:

  • Choose a folder you'll remember, such as Documents or a "Job applications" folder.
  • Give the file a clear name before you click Save.
  • If you'd rather not see the window each time, turn off "ask where to save" in your browser's download settings.

Once saved, open the file to check it before sending it to employers.

My cover letter PDF won't download. What should I try?

Use the same steps as for the resume: check the downloads list, allow downloads and retry. The cover letter written for that resume can be downloaded as a PDF in the same 7 days and up to 10 attempts at no extra cost.

Things to check:

  • Some browsers block a second download from the same page; look for a message asking to allow multiple downloads and allow it.
  • Make sure you are on the same resume you paid for, since the cover letter is linked to it.
  • Keep the page open while the PDF is generated in your browser.

If the resume downloads but the cover letter does not, email support@jobb.ae with the details. Meanwhile, you can copy the cover letter text into an email body if an employer needs it urgently.

My university or hostel network won't load the payment page. What can I do?

Try another network, such as your mobile data, for the payment step. Shared networks at universities, hostels, hotels and workplaces sometimes block payment sites or certain connections.

Options:

  • Switch your phone or laptop to mobile data or a personal hotspot for checkout.
  • Finish editing on the shared network, then pay and download on a trusted connection.
  • Don't use unknown public networks for payments if you can avoid them.

Remember that guest resumes are saved in the browser you used, so stay on the same device and browser when you switch networks; changing network does not affect your saved resume. After paying, you can retry the download for 7 days, up to 10 attempts.

Can battery saver or data saver mode stop my download?

Yes, on some devices. Power and data saving modes may limit background activity, pause downloads or reduce browser performance, and the PDF is generated in your browser.

Before downloading:

  • Turn off battery saver for a few minutes, or plug your device in.
  • Turn off data saver, or allow your browser to use data without limits.
  • Keep the screen on and the page in front until the file is saved.

Afterwards you can switch the saving modes back on. If the download failed while a saving mode was on, simply retry; after paying you can retry for 7 days, up to 10 attempts, and a failed generation does not need a new payment.

The file downloaded but my computer has no program to open it. What do I do?

Open it in your web browser, which can display PDFs, or install a free, well-known PDF reader. Most modern browsers open PDF files without any extra software.

How:

  • Right-click the file and choose "Open with", then pick your browser.
  • Or drag the file into an open browser window.
  • If you want a separate reader, install one from the official website or your device's app store, not from pop-up ads.

You don't need a paid PDF editor to view, attach or upload a resume. Open the file once to check the layout and every page, then attach the same file to your applications. If it opens in some programs but not others, it may be incomplete; download it again.

My computer is old. How can I give the PDF download the best chance?

Prepare the computer first: free memory, update the browser and keep the page in front. Because the PDF is generated in your browser, an older machine has to do all the work itself.

Before you download:

  • Restart the computer, then open only the browser.
  • Close every other tab.
  • Install browser updates, if your system still receives them.
  • Plug in the laptop and don't let it sleep.

Then download once and wait patiently. If it still fails, try a newer device, such as a phone with a recent browser. After paying you can retry for 7 days, up to 10 attempts, and a failed generation can be retried without paying again. If no device works, email support@jobb.ae.

The payment page keeps loading after I pressed Pay. Should I press it again?

No. Wait, don't press Pay again and don't use the back button. Pressing again during a slow payment is a common way to end up with two charges.

What to do:

  • Give the page time to finish.
  • If it never finishes, check your card or bank app to see whether the payment went through.
  • If it went through, return to your resume and try the download.
  • If it didn't, you can try again later on a stable connection.

If you were charged twice, duplicate charges are refunded under the Refund Policy. Email support@jobb.ae with the time of each payment and any references, and include a screenshot of the stuck page if you took one.

I paid for the wrong resume. What should I do?

Email support@jobb.ae as soon as possible with the date and time of payment and an explanation. Each US$1.00 payment is for one PDF export, made from the resume you were on when you paid, so support needs to know what went wrong.

Include in your message:

  • Which resume you paid for and which one you meant to download.
  • Any reference you have.
  • Whether you downloaded the wrong PDF yet.

Ask support what they can do before paying again. To avoid this in future, keep a note of which saved resume is which and check the preview before you pay, so you can see that the content and name at the top are the ones you expect.

My browser asks to allow "multiple downloads". Is that safe to allow?

Yes, for a site you trust and are using right now. Browsers ask this when one page tries to save more than one file, for example a resume and then a cover letter, to stop websites dropping lots of files on you.

What to do:

  • Choose Allow when the prompt appears while you are downloading your own documents.
  • If you clicked Block, open the site settings for the page and change automatic or multiple downloads to Allow.
  • Retry the download that was stopped.

After paying, the resume can be downloaded again or retried for 7 days, up to 10 attempts, and the cover letter written for that resume is included in the same window at no extra cost.

My downloaded resume still contains sample text or [brackets]. How do I fix it?

Edit the resume to replace the leftover text, then download again. After paying you can download again or retry for 7 days, up to 10 attempts, including after edits.

Why it happens: the checklist before payment flags leftover sample text and [bracketed] prompts, but it only warns and never blocks, so it is easy to continue without fixing everything.

Steps:

  • Search your resume for "[" and for the sample name, email and phone at the top.
  • Replace example summaries and bullets with true details about you.
  • Re-read every section in the preview.
  • Download again and delete the old file.

If you already sent the old version to an employer, send the corrected one only if they ask or the application allows an update.
