Receptionist resume

How do I write a medical or dental receptionist resume?

Focus on patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance or payment handling, and calm, private communication with patients. Medical and dental practices want to see that you handle busy waiting rooms and sensitive information carefully.

Points to show:

  • Booking system used, such as a practice management or clinic appointment system.
  • Registering new patients and updating records.
  • Checking insurance details or collecting payments, described as tasks only.
  • Confidentiality of patient information.

Example (fictional): "Registered new patients and verified insurance details at a busy family clinic, keeping check-in under five minutes."

Example (fictional): "Managed appointment books for four dentists, filling cancellations from a waiting list to reduce empty slots."

Example (fictional): "Handled patient records with strict confidentiality, following the clinic's data procedures."

Do not include any real patient details. If you completed a short medical terminology or first aid course, add it under training.
